A Makeable Putt

On the Par 5 10th, John's just hit his 3rd shot from 82 yards to 9 inches.

That'll work. :salut:

The Right Page

Through the 12th, John remains at -4 for the day and -12 for the tournament. At T-9, he is on the first page of the Leaderboard.

Down the Stretch

With par at the 13th to remain at 12-under, John is now T-11. But things are really tight at the top, and a birdie puts him T-7.

That birdie may be on the way: On the short (361 yards) Par 4 14th, he drove it 313 yards to just in front of the green. And he's wedged it to 6 feet, 8 inches.

Knock it in, John!

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Yes!

Five-under for the round, 13-under for the tournament and now T-6.

Coming up, the 465-yard, Par 4 15th, the 4th-ranked toughest on the course.

P.S. Set those VCRs and Tivos (ABC, 2-4 PM ET), boys and girls. With continued good play and a little luck, there will be some air time for 'ol John this afternoon!

Grinding Away

Agggh.

John drove it right and into the primary rough. He punched out and is now 99 yards from the hole in two. This would be a great up-and-down. [-o<

Nut-Cuttin' Time

Wedge to 10 feet, 9 inches. More [-o< for steady nerves, a good read, and a nice Hinge Action.

A Stroke Dropped

Rats. Two putts for a bogey and back to T-11. But, the field has averaged 4.11 on this toughie, and everybody else has to play it, too.

Back In the Saddle

Birdie 2 on the short, but tough (7th hardest) 16th! Five-under for the day, -13 for the tournament and T-7!

Drums Across the Mohawk

On the 557-yard, Par 5 17th, John's just ripped it 320 yards up the left side. He's got a perfect angle in from 218 yards. For him, probably a 5-iron (no more than a 4-iron) to be on in two.

A Frozen Rope to Three Feet

How does 3 feet, 3 inches for Eagle sound? Stroke'r in, John!
