How much bend forward a club has to be?

Just a question, how much bend forward the shaft have to be for good quality trajectory? Obviously too bend forward and not enough bend is equally a bad thing. Any thoughts on this?

nuke99,

I believe the flat left wrist limits the amount forward shaft lean. Their can be variances however while still having the flat left wrist. The more forward shaft lean the more delofted the club is equaling lower ball flight, given two swing that are the same in speed, plane, and angle of approach.

As long is the left wrist is flat you are o.k..

The amount of forward lean is built into the club. Get into your address position with your hands pushed forward so they cover the inside of your left leg, do this on a hard floor and you will notice that if you use the middle ball postion with a wedge the bottom of the club will be relatvely flat on the ground. Try the same ball postion with a 3 iron and you will see the bottom will be angled to much so bring the ball postion forwward till the bottom of the club is relatively square to the ground. This will probably be about 2 1/2balls forward of the middle, the rest of the clubs will be somwhere in between.

I say it has something to do with Grip Type, Elbow Position and Hinging too.
