Stay Away From Those Guernsey Shankers, Stuart!

All the best

Welcome, Stuart! Thanks for your comments on our site and also for your first post. Keep'em coming!

I had heard the name Guernsey, but I couldn't have located it before today. So, on your inspiration, I went to our Frapper Map, searched through the members, found your name, clicked and -- voila'! -- there you are. Like the photo, too! By the way, for the record, you were Member #100 on the map! I encourage all LBG members who have not put their name up to do so now. http://www.frappr.com/thetgmworldmap It only takes a minute, and its fun to see where everybody is!

I did a little more homework on Guernsey and found that, not surprisingly, the island's restaurants do a robust seafood business. One of the more popular items seems to be crab, which the Guerns refer to by its French name: chancre. The only problem with that word is its pronunciation...

Shanker.

Well Yoda
You certainly have done your homework, one little thing, I can't beleive I am going to be correcting you! "the Britons" actually just call it edible crab or brown crab, we Guerns!! call it chancre.

Now if you want a truly local local dish which you will not find in England or France check out our Ormers!!

Hey, fluff, that Ormer Casserole looks pretty good. Anything that's lasted about 400 years can't be all bad! I've got a hunch I might find myself out your way sometime soon. If that happens, we'll load up on some of those shankers -- I mean, chancres -- and the Ormers. From the looks of those critters, though, we're going to need to wash'm down with something a little stronger than 'Co-Cola.' Any ideas?

Hey, while I'm here, welcome to our newest Frapper Member, KOC, from Hong Kong, China. Welcome aboard, KOC, Frapper Member #101. Please...post!

And anybody reading this who has not yet added his or her name to the Frapper Map...

Shame on you!

It only takes a minute.

Click here http://www.frappr.com/thetgmworldmap and do it now!

We want to see where you are and -- if you've got a photo, who you are!

Good to see you up there in Hinckley, Ohio, Uppndownn. You're #103 on the map. John Flayter (FL-John) from Port Charlotte, Florida, slipped in just ahead of you at #102.

Thanks, guys, for putting yourselves 'on the map.' This place is getting crowded!

Frap On!
Thanks for the comments, guys, and welcome aboard!

If you haven't already put yourself on the LBG Frapper Map, click here http://www.frappr.com/thetgmworldmap and join the crowd (120 as I write). It only takes a minute. Then start clicking around and learn more about your fellow members. Here's a reprint from 6BMike's originating post:

"Click on the link below and see where your many friends at LBG live and play the game. 'Left-click and drag' the screen and use the controls to zoom in and out and 'roundabout. Don't forget our South Sea folk and those near the top of the world as well. Click on a cyber-buddy's name on the list at the right of the page to locate them. Or, go exploring by clicking on the little icons to see who lives there. Be sure to add your name and a brief comment by clicking on the Add Yourself link at the right of the page."

Frap on!
