Sorry, never said she had a bad swing. She just had a sway she needed to get rid of.
Matts aren't necessarily bad if you don't mind taking a little pain. I still hit "down" into a matt and thats why i end up with lots of green marks on the soles of my clubs after i leave

Thanks a lot guys. I have understood its not a ball position thing.
Like Theodans "mats are 'down' killers"" idea.
I will:
- Study ball position a bit more
- Be more concerned about the down component in the future.

This is someone who is fairly new, so take my stuff with a grain. Something appropriate can usually be worked out with setup, club, ball position and aimpoint. At the beginning of this learning process, I am emphasizing the "down'. It's reflected by the strip steaks I dig up on the course some days. As I get better at maintaining the "forward" and the bent wrist (read impact bag), I think my arc will flatten better at impact to seperation; less digging.
Just beware the ball back in your arc. Impact is OK because your hands are ahead, but it puts lowpoint too far below the surface. Unconsciously you may recruit things like the "reverse K" spine tilt, folding your left elbow to fit through, or bumping up your left shoulder. All are anathema to your swing radius. And I have done(do) them all.
FWIW, I do have tendonitis around my elbows from banging beaucoup range balls. My solution for now was to switch to Nippon shafts and they have helped immensely. I think the long term solution is to improve my swing.
